NIPPERS

Such a wonderful day for our first Club Championships on Sunday. The sun was shining and the water conditions were perfect for our Nippers. It was so great to see so many smiling faces on the beach and in the water. A heartfelt thank you to everyone across the club who helped make the day such a success. We are the largest Nippers program on the Northern Beaches and it’s so wonderful to have so many volunteers chip in to ensure our kids are safe, they have fun and we all contribute to building a strong sense of community.

Round 2 Club Championship will be held on Feb 4.

For those who are keen for more than our Sunday Nippers, there are a couple of local carnivals that we’ll be attending. All Nippers U9 and above are welcome to attend and these local carnivals are a great way to “test the waters”.

1) Sunday 3 Dec – Junior Beach Carnival | North Narrabeen Sun Dec 3
Entries close Friday 24th Nov – sign up here
2) Sunday 10 Dec – Long Reef Carnival
Entries yet to open – check this page in the coming weeks

Congratulations on U8s for an amazing BBQ last weekend, with record numbers of snags being flamed. Thank you to all the parent helpers who jumped in. This weekend is U9s turn to man the tongs. If you can spare an hour, please volunteer for barbecue duty here
We need everyone to chip in to spread the workload across our Nipper Community.

See you on Sunday morning!

SURF SPORTS

What a busy start to season 2023/24, I cannot believe it is November already…

The start to the season has been a fantastic one as we continue to support the benefits of health & well being through your love of surf.

Our passionate coaching team has been hard at work, coaching and mentoring each week on the beach and I cannot thank them enough for their support. This year we welcomed back Sean, Mike, Glenn Jason, Kim, Darryl, Tony and Dinky in various roles and also welcomed some great new coaches in Cam, Liam, Jami & Ollie.

With all surf sports activities firmly underway we have seen boats, beachies and surf competitors across all ages training and representing NCC in carnivals.

Starting with the high of watching one of our own, Luke H represented Australia in the youth team who went head-to-head with New Zealand in the Battle of the Tasman on the Gold Coast. We have seen some incredible performances in the local nipper carnivals, the Beach Stormers series, Coolangatta Gold, the Surf Boat Premiership and also the initial rounds of the Summer of Surf.

As we look to close the calendar year out I am looking forward to seeing you all continue to represent NCC over the next few weeks before a well deserved Christmas break.
