Surf to Shore – Thursday 1st February

The Australia Day weekend was a very big weekend at NCC. Australia Day saw huge crowds at the beach a real scorcher, our patrols were on point , the kiosk was heaving and Bottles was humming from 1pm. It was great to see so many members catching up on Friday.

Saturday saw some respite from the heat though the beach was again busy in the morning with Surf Sports nippers and seniors training in full swing and finally Sunday was an awesome morning starting with Ripper Nippers, Nippers and the Wiz Cup conducted by Michael Johnston…. A series of fun club races , surf swim board and beach where all members are encouraged to join in , with very healthy competition from various patrols

In addition we had our boaties competing at Collaroy and a number of clubs staying in our hall including Wauchope Bonny Hills. Will J and Kasey Bolt raced in the Summer of Surf at Maroochydore.

Speaking with Carmel our Director of Lifesaving she was very pleased with the number of members who filled and completed patrols where we were short on numbers over this massive weekend.

Thank you to all patrol members who helped out!

Take advantage of our Patrol members swim squad every Tuesday 5:30pm at Aquaculture Swim at Brookvale Westfield

Our 100 year book will be at the printers next week

A new bronze course will be commencing soon get in touch with Tony Tier our Director of Education if your keen. Education@nccslsc.com.au

Thanks to all our Patrols keeping our beach safe this weekend

See you on the beach or in the surf!

LIFESAVING

A huge thank you to all who joined us on patrol during the Australia Day long weekend. We encountered a diverse range of conditions, from a bustling beach to a sudden southerly change, a cooler Saturday, Nippers activities, the Wiz Cup, and even a shark sighting. With a mix of regulars, reservists, and competitors, our patrols were well-rounded, and we’re thrilled with the teamwork and dedication displayed.
